OVERVIEW
The Experimental Design Competition (EXD) offers an opportunity for students, practitioners, and ecologists to discuss, debate, and collaborate on a real world Design Experiment. Morning ignite presentations and breakout sessions will provide the framework for the afternoon charette competition. During the competition, teams from participating universities will be paired with practitioners and ecologists to devise a hypothesis-driven design and data collection strategy for an active afforestation project in Baltimore.
This competition is an applied competition; it is expected that one of the submitted schemes will be applied to the afforestation site (with the possibility of modifications) and that members of the winning team will participate in installing the design.
